I'm probably going there for a couple weeks before Rio this year.  I have been reading about different saunas, clubs, and gay BARS, (something they don't really have in Rio).  Has anyone been lately?  Know a good local guide?  Many thanks!

Our southern gay Brazilian affiliate is actually based in Floripa, so they know all the best gay spots as well as some nice bed and breakfasts to stay.

Praia Mole is the gay beach and there's even a gay bar right on the beach.  Plus, I hear there's a nude section. Floripa is also a popular beach get-away destination for the Gaúchos of Porto Alegre and the Porteños of Buenos Aires and you'll be there at a popular time of the year.

We supplied a guide/driver for MobileMature during his stay.  Our affiliate can arrange some younger gay guides, but most of them do not have cars.

There is also a bus system that runs between the beach and downtown areas.

Since you're a beach person, I think you'd really like Floripa.
