Wishing, I'm SO glad you're safe and sound and that you cared about the rest of us to share this warning.  Possesions can always be replaced, but you cannot be.  Thanks for making every attempt to track this person down and making sure he doesn't harm anyone else.

For some reason, he strangely looks familiar, and I'm thinking that his criminal behavior might have been reported on another site.

Everyone, please share these experiences so that future travelers are not at risk.

I couldn't help but notice that he portrays himself on more than one gay-oriented social website associated with Brazil.  And, I've had the pleasure to chat with you on one as well.

But infortunately, social websites have become the playgrounds of a few oportunistic preditors, and that certainly applies to Brazil as well.

Of course, many of us, and including myself,  would like to meet our future Brazilian love interest outside of the sauna scene.  But there is a reason why the institution of the sauna scene works so well.  There is traceability back to basically their place of employment.  Meeting someone on a social website can unfortunately be equivalent to meeting someone walking along the beach, and even though you've chatted with them for months.

Sorry again, my friend, that of all people, this happened to you.  But thanks again for having the courage and willingness to share your experience to the benefit of all of us.
